If you are making the trek from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur but want to avoid the hassle of the airport, your only other option is to drive. We used a service called Day Trip which is primarily used in Europe, however they do offer a run from Singapore to KL.
Day Trip is a service that takes you from one destination to another with added tourist stops along the way for an additional fee. We decided to make a stop in Melaka, a vibrant historic state in Malaysia.
Melaka is quite impressive with river boat tours, a night market along Jonker Street, naval museum, the Menara Taming Sari, a revolving tower that lifts you over the city and so much more. The 2 hours we spent here didn’t really do it justice. I highly recommend two days to get the full experience.
The best way to get from one attraction to the next is by taking a rickshaw. This is a passenger bike/cart complete, with decorations, music and lights! Definitely a highlight of the trip.
The drive from Singapore to Melaka is about 3.5 hours and Melaka to Kuala Lumpur is another 2.5 hours. The entire day trip cost us $250 for the three of us. There was a little bit of traffic crossing the border but otherwise was hassle free. We didn’t even have to leave the vehicle.
