18 Year Olds Do Your Future Self A Favor

18 year olds do your future self a favor and take advantage of the following 6 tips. Do so while you’re still living at home with no rent, bills, mortgage or debt.

Your late teen years are the building blocks for the rest of your life. The decisions you make during that time will set the foundation for your future.

College

Seriously consider if this is the right move for you. College isn’t the answer for everyone and can actually set you back big time. Many who go to college leave with $60,000 or more worth of debt. A degree doesn’t mean you’ll get a job right away either.

A lot of what you learn in school can be learned on-line. The piece of paper you’re given that says you’re qualified, from an accredited college, no one asks to see anyway.

Obviously many fields require you to have higher education. However, if you are a self starter with an entrepreneurial mind set I would highly consider forgoing college. Use that time to find a mentor and build your business.

With all that being said, if you have a scholarship or if you are fortunate enough to have a paid ride, college is a no-brainer for everyone.

Invest In Stocks

18 year olds do yourself a favor and start investing in high yield dividend stocks. It’s never been easier to sign up for Robinhood or Webull and buy stocks right from your phone. You literally don’t have to know a single thing about the stock market. Simply just mirror what the smartest people are doing and learn as you go.

When Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon met Warren Buffett, founder and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, he asked, “your investing strategy is so simple, why doesn’t everyone just copy you.” Buffett’s reply, “because nobody wants to get rich slow.”

With dividend stocks you can literally live off the dividends later on in life. Quite sooner if you invest more. Or at the very least supplement what you are already making.

Invest in Bitcoin

Every investor should have the goal of owning at least 1 Bitcoin. The truth is, there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin in the world. As of October 2019 there were only 46.8 millionaires in the world. There aren’t even enough bitcoin for every millionaire to have one.

With the scarcity of Bitcoin and the harder it gets to mine every 4 years, speculators don’t think a $100,000 Bitcoin is out of reach. You’ll definitely be in the minority if you can grab at least 1.
