So you’ve heard about solo ads before but have no clue what they are. Or maybe you used them before with minimal success. So what is the real truth about solo ads. Do they work and should you use them?
Solo ads is when you leverage someone else’s email list to promote your offer. When someone opts-in to your lead magnet. The new subscriber now become part of your email list. This gives you the ability to follow up with your list when ever you want. If you’re not sure what a lead magnet is, read, So What Is a Lead Magnet Anyway?
Why You Should Use Solo Ads
Solo ads are typically geared toward the make money online niche. You can find vendors in the health and wellness niche as well. Solo Ads are a great way to scale your business to the next level. If money is not an issue for you, starting out with this service is not a bad idea. However, if you don’t have any money you should use organic traffic methods first and then use the money you earn to scale into solo ads.
One of my favorite organic methods to get leads and sales is by leveraging my personal Facebook profile. If you would like to learn more about this read, How To Make Money On Facebook Full Time.
Solo Ad Misconception
There are too many entrepreneurs that feel as if they should get sales as soon as they purchase from a vendor. The truth is 95% of the time you will not get a sale on the front end. Why? Even though you may have the best offer in the world you haven’t built up the know, like and trust factor that is needed for the sale. Most buyers will only buy when they know more about the person they are buying from. This is why email sequences and follow up are vital to your success.
Where to Buy Solo Ads
The best place to find a vendor is through word of mouth. Facebook is a great way to connect with vendors. However, be aware of the scammers out there. Facebook has plenty of vendors preying on newbies. This is why asking other successful affiliates who they recommend. Facebook groups are a great way to connect with other marketers who can give great insight on this topic.
It has never been easier than right now to purchase solo ads. With a marketplace like Udimi, you have access to hundreds of vendors. Questions To Ask Vendors
If you choose to go with a private vendor instead be sure to ask these simple questions.
- How they built their email list?
- How many clicks they sell per day on average?
- Do they replenish their list often?
- What % of traffic is tier 1? (US, Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand and others)
- Do You have testimonials?
- What niche you focus on.
The truth is all of these questions and more should be answered in a good sales page from a solo provider. Most Udimi sellers already provide this information as well right on their profile.
Landing Page & Email Marketing Software
To run solo ad campaigns you must have a landing page to collect leads. When a lead opts in to your offer they will then be placed in an email auto-responder where pre written emails are sent automatically to your leads.
There are a number of options to choose from when it comes to landing pages and email auto-responders. I personally use Builderall because of all the value packed in one software. I can design websites, sales funnels, landing pages, and email market in one spot. If you already have a landing page builder and only need email marketing services GetResponse and Aweber are great affiliate friendly options. Just stay far away from Mailchimp. I outline why HERE.
The Truth Is…
Solo ads will bring you a lot of leads and opt-ins from your lead magnet. However, it doesn’t stop there, you MUST follow up with your new leads on a consistent basis. Otherwise, you’ll be throwing money down the drain and never see a return on investment. The first few emails sent should be used to start building a relationship with them. Tell them how you overcame your struggles. You don’t want to portray yourself as perfect.
It can be frustrating as well when these new leads aren’t opening your emails. Don’t be discouraged though. I am on the email list of a number of marketers I admire and I don’t open every one of their emails. To them it may appear that I am am unresponsive when the truth is I don’t need anything from them at the moment. The thing is I do see their names and that builds name recognition, especially when you start to see them on YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram.
